I love dark chocolate and I love popcorn so I wanted to try and find a way I could blend the two tastes. I came up with the simple dark chocolate popcorn recipe and it's super easy to make at home.
You first pop the popcorn like you normally do. Then melt the chocolate on the stove or in the microwave. Add some heavy cream or milk to the chocolate to make it nice and drizzly. Then mix it with the popcorn.
The resulting dark chocolate popcorn turns out great!

Dark Chocolate Popcorn Ingredients
For the Dark Chocolate Popcorn
4 cups popped popcorn 1/2 cup diced dark chocolate or dark chocolate chips 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk, warmed
Salt, preferably kosher or sea salt
Dark Chocolate Popcorn Instructions
First melt the dark chocolate. The two easiest ways to do this are to use a double boiler or to microwave it. I usually microwave it in a plastic, microwave safe container for 30 to 45 seconds at a time, stirring in between each time. For more information on melting dark chocolate you can read this article.
Once the dark chocolate is melted, stir in the heavy cream or milk until it becomes incorporated. Heat it again until the dark chocolate can be drizzled or spooned out.
Next, mix the dark chocolate and popcorn together. I've found a good way to easily mix them is to place some of the popcorn in a bowl then drizzle or spoon the dark chocolate over the popcorn and sprinkle with some salt. Add more popcorn to the bowl and repeat. Then I'll use a spoon to finish mixing them together. You want to make sure you move quickly while you are mixing them so the dark chocolate doesn't harden too much.
At this point you can eat the dark chocolate popcorn but for best results I like to refrigerate it for about 30 minutes until the dark chocolate sets.
Now you can make great dark chocolate popcorn at home!
