White Chocolate Popcorn Recipe

Even though I'm a fan of milk and dark chocolate, my wife loves white so I put this white chocolate popcorn recipe together. It's a pretty easy popcorn recipe and the only real work is melting the white chocolate.

You first pop the popcorn like you normally do. The white chocolate is melted in the microwave or on the stove with some heavy cream or milk to make it easier to drizzle. Then mix it with the popcorn.

I recommend using white chocolate bars in this popcorn recipe because white chocolate chips often have additives designed to prevent it from melting. For a classic touch you can also add a handful of macadamia nuts to this white chocolate popcorn recipe when you mix the popcorn with the chocolate.

The resulting white chocolate popcorn recipe turns out great!

White Chocolate Popcorn Ingredients

For the White Chocolate Popcorn

4 cups popped popcorn
1/2 cup diced white chocolate
1-2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk, warmed
Salt, preferably kosher or sea salt

White Chocolate Popcorn Instructions

Melt the white chocolate. The two easiest ways to do this are to use a double boiler or to microwave it. I usually microwave it in a plastic, microwave safe container for 30 to 45 seconds at a time, stirring in between each time.

Once the white chocolate is melted, stir in the heavy cream or milk until it becomes incorporated. Heat it again until the white chocolate can be spooned out and flows easily.

Mix the white chocolate and popcorn together. My favorite way to do this is to place some of the popcorn in a bowl then drizzle or spoon the white chocolate over the popcorn and sprinkle with some salt. Add more popcorn to the bowl and repeat. Then I'll use a spoon to finish mixing them together. You want to make sure you move quickly while you are mixing them so the white chocolate doesn't harden too much.

At this point you can eat the white chocolate popcorn but for best results I like to refrigerate it for about 30 minutes until the white chocolate sets.

Now you can make great white chocolate popcorn at home!
