Two of my favorite things are chocolate and peanut butter. They're great in peanut butter cups, cookies, cake, and candy bars. I figured why not try them together with popcorn. This easy-to-make chocolate peanut butter popcorn recipe is great to prepare at home.

First make the popcorn like you normally would. Then melt the chocolate on the stove or in the microwave. Add in the peanut butter and some heavy cream or milk to the chocolate and mix well. Then combine it with the popcorn and you're good to go!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn Ingredients

For the Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn

4 cups popped popcorn
4.4 ounces milk chocolate, about 1 large Hershey bar
2 tablespoons peanut butter, preferably chunky
1-2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk, warmed
Salt, preferably kosher or sea salt

Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn Instructions

First melt the chocolate. I usually microwave it in a microwave safe plastic container for 30 to 45 seconds, stir it, and repeat until it is melted. You can also use a double boiler, or bowl set over a pot of water, to melt it. For more information on melting chocolate you can read this article.

Once the chocolate is melted, stir in the peanut butter and heavy cream then mix well. Re-heat it until the chocolate and peanut butter mixture can be drizzled or spooned out.

Next, mix the chocolate peanut butter mixture and popcorn together. I usually place some of the popcorn in a bowl then drizzle or spoon the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the popcorn. I also sprinkle with some salt. Add more popcorn to the bowl and drizzle more chocolate peanut butter on top. Repeat until all the popcorn is coated. Then use a spoon to finish mixing them together. You want to mix them together relatively quickly so the chocolate peanut butter doesn't harden too much.

At this point you can eat the chocolate peanut butter popcorn but for best results I like to refrigerate it for about 30 minutes until the chocolate sets.

Now you can make great chocolate peanut butter popcorn whenever you get a craving!
